Happy Holidays! Our annual program is warming up with the “Community at Heart”! The Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau administers this seasonal program which helps hundreds of Wayne County families enjoy their Christmas morning.

The Bureau operates solely on donations and depends upon the wonderful and historic generosity of the Wayne County community. The need is especially great this year and no donation is too small. You can adopt a family or make a single donation to help the cause. Please know that every child helped is from Wayne County therefore, 100% of your donations stay local. Donation checks are greatly appreciated and should be made payable to WCCCB. Please mail them to the WCCCB, 200 Delaware Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.

The Christmas Bureau’s program assists low income WAYNE COUNTY families by purchasing gifts for their children for Christmas.

Please note the date and times to sign up for this year’s Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau. Sign up times will be strictly followed.  If your family is in need of assistance, please bring these items with you in order to sign up: You must bring a current utility bill (within last 30 days). A driver’s license is not acceptable.  No applications will be accepted without proof of Wayne County residency. Only one (1) parent can sign up. Social Security numbers for all children are required. (You must have physical custody of your children). To register your children they must be between the ages of newborn – 16 years.

 If you do not have the required information you will not be able to register your children at that time.

To register, go to the Chamber of Commerce Community Room, 32 Commercial Street Honesdale. Please enter only through the Community Room entrance. Signs will be posted on the door. Registration days are:

• Monday, October 12^th — 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, October 13^th — 11:30 a.m – 2:30 p.m.
• Friday, October 16^th — 3:00 p.m – 7:00 p.m. 
• Monday, October 19^th — 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, October 21^st — 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 You will be given your pickup date and time when you sign up. Distribution of gifts will be on Sunday, December 13^th.  Pick up will be at the Park Street Complex located at 648 Park Street, Honesdale (old Stourbridge School cafeteria).  Pick-up times will be assigned in advance and are strictly enforced.

ADOPT A FAMILY!!! A family, organization, group, club or even a communal gathering of friends can “Adopt A Family” for Christmas.  Your generosity will help make the Holiday Season bright for the families using the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau. The good feelings you generate will last well beyond the holiday season. When a group adopts a Wayne County family, the joy and responsibilities are shared amongst the group. This is truly a tangible way to bring special meaning back to the Holiday Season. Please join your neighbors in this heart-warming community project for our children. Donate unwrapped toys to fill the Fire Truck!

This Toy Drive will be held at Walmart in Honesdale on Saturday the 25th of November from 9AM to 3PM.
